CDS Basalt Fiber Twisted Yarn

Basalt fiber twisted yarn is a yarn formed by twisting and plying one or more basalt fiber raw filaments, with a single filament diameter generally ≤ 13μm. Twisted yarns can be roughly divided into weaving yarns and other industrial yarns; weaving yarns are mainly tube yarns and bottle - shaped bobbin yarns.

 Operating Mechanism 
 

   The production of basalt fibre yarn involves several steps. First, volcanic rock is melted at a temperature of approximately 1400°C.     The molten material is then extruded through small nozzles to form fine fibres. These fibres are then sized to improve their               performance and finally spun into yarn using a process similar to that used for other types of yarn.
